Life is too short
to be playing by everyone else’s rules
Hey there, I’m Kate.
I haven’t always lived courageously.
For most of my life, my lack of self-confidence and courage held me back.
I didn’t speak up when I needed to most – from disappointing (or truly awful) haircuts, to the birth suite where I didn’t stand up for myself, to boundaries that I’ve let others trample all over.
As a self-professed people pleaser, and introvert to boot, I was so worried about what everyone else would think that I self-silenced and shoved down my own needs, dreams and desires.
I avoided trying new things or taking risks – unless I could guarantee I couldn’t fail.
I wasn’t living my life – I was simply living the live I thought everyone else expected of me.
And then I had kids. And in a twist I wasn’t expecting it got worse before it got better!
But eventually I realised that I now had three little people who were learning everything I was modelling. And the truth is I didn’t want them to grow up with my complete lack of confidence, filled with self-doubt.
So my deep dive journey into building my confident, courageous life began.
It showed me that you can have confidence and speak up – without having to be the loudest in the room.
It taught me that it’s ok for each of us to say ‘no’ and establish healthy boundaries, ditching overwhelm and exhaustion from our lives.
It showed me that a true understanding of your self-worth is what matters – not how loud you are or how willing you are to get your gear off in public to ‘prove’ your confidence.
It showed me that every woman has a unique voice, one that deserves to be heard – and we sometimes just need a little support to start to speak up.
It taught me that it doesn’t make us bad people or bad mums if we untangle the chains of people pleasing and live the life we truly want – without worrying about judgement from others.
It’s time to find your voice and have the confidence to use it.
It’s time to live courageously – and show others (including our kids) that it’s possible for them to do the same.
The other stuff about me….
Kate Vivian is a confidence and women’s empowerment coach, and mum of three, supporting even the quietest women to speak up and live courageously.
Through her work in the corporate world to her work as a childbirth educator, doula and coach, Kate realised that there was often a common theme holding women back – a lack of self-confidence combined with a constant worry about what others might be thinking.
As a mum of three girls, she wanted to show them what confident, courageous living can look like – without having to change the essence of who they are.
After more than a decade working in the change space where she supported countless women as they faced their own doubts, fears and insecurities, Kate now brings her wealth of wisdom and a toolkit packed with powerful strategies to help women feel more confident in the boardroom to the bedroom and beyond.
Kate creates a space for women where they can feel safe to take risks, to dream big and to show up as authentically them. No BS required. A space where women can reclaim their innate worth, find their voice and have the confidence to use it.
When Kate’s not supporting mums or mums-to-be, you’ll probably find her drooling over recipes she never has time to cook, chucking weights around at the gym or chowing down on some chocolate (because it’s all about balance – right??).
Kate also teaches the supports women find their confidence for birth – you can find out more about Kate’s offerings here
